As reported by the United States Department of Education in their article “Title IX and Sex Discrimination,” Title IX protects individuals from discrimination based on their sex and this is essential to our education system.

“A recipient institution that receives Department funds must operate its education program or activity in a nondiscriminatory manner free of discrimination based on sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity,” the United States Department of Education said.
