As reported by WNYPapers.com in their article “STOP-DWI High-Visibility Engagement Campaign in Place for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend,” law enforcement agencies across Niagara County and New York State are increasing patrols to combat impaired driving during high-risk periods, including St. Patrick’s Day. This initiative is part of a larger statewide effort to reduce preventable traffic fatalities and injuries.  

From March 13 through March 18, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with local law enforcement, will participate in the STOP-DWI high-visibility engagement campaign. These enhanced enforcement efforts are designed to increase public awareness, deter impaired driving, and promote safe decision-making during celebrations. The campaign is part of a broader statewide program supported by STOP-DWI New York and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
